Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Fidwork

Product, deployment, data, pricing: the essentials before we talk.

The product

What is the difference between Fidwork Pro and Fidwork Compliance?

They are two separate applications built on a shared technical foundation. Fidwork Pro is for the contractor's operational management: job tracking, 3D drawings, tracking of hours and margin. Fidwork Compliance is for consolidated compliance monitoring on the plant operator's side: QR code inspections, non-conformity mapping, data segregation, role-based dashboards.

What does the shared core include?

Both applications share requests and jobs with the site file, document management and generated documents, photos and field evidence, the scaffold register and mapping, notifications, roles and permissions, offline mode on Android, iOS and web, as well as CSV, Excel and JSON exports and standard reporting.

Does Fidwork generate our regulatory documents?

Yes. From the data entered, Fidwork automatically generates the regulatory Excel documents: FEB, scaffold tag, inspection report, schedule of rates, as well as SCAFFTAG / MASE formats. Templates are easy to customise (logo, fields) and FEBs are configurable: sections, fields and mandatory fields.

Can Fidwork adapt to our price schedule?

Yes. Fidwork adapts to each client's price schedule: quantities recorded in the field are valued against its line items, and invoicing follows its format. The details are agreed during scoping.

We already use Excel or an in-house tool.

Fidwork brings together in one framework what Excel, e-mails and paper scatter: requests, statuses, photos, approvals and history. Your existing data can be migrated using Excel import (optional), and you can keep working with your spreadsheets thanks to CSV, Excel and JSON exports.

Our contractor already has its own tool.

Fidwork Compliance gives the plant operator a common view across all its contractors. Where a contractor already uses its own tool, data import and the REST API (optional) make it possible to assess bringing its information across; the chosen approach is defined during scoping.

Which devices does Fidwork run on?

On Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, and in a web browser. The app works without an internet connection in the field: data syncs automatically once the network is back.

Deployment

How does deployment work?

In five steps: scoping (site, trades, objectives, priority process), configuration (roles, lists, FEB, documents, permissions, basic reporting), administrator training with launch follow-up, adoption (user sessions, communication kit, login tracking and review), then enhancements using functional credits.

Every site works differently.

That is why Fidwork is a standard tool configured site by site: roles, lists, documents, permissions and reporting are adapted to your organisation, with no custom development. You get started faster and benefit from every platform update.

Can a plant operator provide access for its contractors?

Yes. A plant operator can cover its contractors' Fidwork Pro access for work carried out on its sites, or invite them to subscribe directly. The arrangements are defined together during scoping.

How do we bring our contractors on board?

Fidwork offers dedicated support: contractor onboarding, role-based user training (plant operators, scaffolders, project managers, local administrators) and a communication kit to ease adoption.

Our client uses Fidwork Compliance: do we have to pay?

It depends on the arrangement agreed with your client. If they cover your Fidwork Pro access for their sites, you use it within that scope. If you want to use Fidwork Pro across all your clients and sites, you will need a subscription in your own name. Let's talk to find the right formula.

Can we reuse data from our previous turnarounds?

Yes, with the Excel data import option: import file provided, data converted to the Fidwork format, field mapping and bulk import. Your history then becomes the basis for the next turnaround.

How long does implementation take?

It depends on the number of sites, the trades involved and any integrations. The timeline is set out at the scoping stage, together with the scope and budget.

Pricing and contract

How is the price structured?

The price is based on an annual subscription per site, plus a mandatory launch (initial configuration and administrator training). Services (enhancement credits, training, support) and options are added according to your needs. The final scope is confirmed at the end of scoping.

What does the subscription include?

Access to the chosen application on Android, iOS and web, hosting on a sovereign cloud with off-site backup, corrective maintenance and platform updates.

Can we start with a single site?

Yes. You can start on one site, then roll Fidwork out to other sites: pricing adapts to the number of sites deployed, and the launch cost per site decreases with volume.

What options can we add?

Custom scaffold register, round optimisation, inspection alerts, custom drop-down lists, Excel data import, custom dashboards (Power BI), documented REST API, single sign-on (SSO), source code escrow and on-premises hosting.

Can you develop our specific requirement?

The core remains standard and reproducible. Adaptations are delivered through enhancement credits (3, 9 or 18 days); integrations (SSO, IT system connectors, automated imports) and custom developments are quoted separately and scoped upfront.

Data and IT

Who sees what in Fidwork?

Permissions are defined by role (client, scaffolder, user, safety department), with read and write permissions for each step of the process. In Fidwork Compliance, each contractor sees only its own data, while the plant operator has the full picture.

Where is our data hosted?

On a sovereign cloud, with off-site backup. On-premises hosting is also available as an option.

Does Fidwork replace our ERP or CMMS?

No. Fidwork does not replace SAP, Maximo, your CMMS or your ERP: it is the operational layer that makes field work traceable and usable. It interfaces with your systems through optional connectors (SAP, Epsilon, Microsoft Business Central, Power BI…).

Can we export our data?

Yes, at any time, in CSV, Excel and JSON formats. A documented REST API is also available as an option.

What guarantees on security and continuity?

Sovereign cloud hosting, off-site backup, role-based access rights, data segregation between contractors and traceability of every action. Detailed commitments are set out in the contract.
